The Rest of the Predecessors
People and things, they do not remain in the same state forever. Look around you, and you would notice
traces of time and age everywhere. Nothing escapes being bound to a life span, just as nothing escapes
the fate of being replaced eventually.
The predecessors, both the living and non-living, are often associated with being outdated, retired, or even
obsolete. Yet, they embrace the age that are put on them, residing bravely amongst the new, the successors,
the descendants. They have entered a state of rest that is vulnerable, yet so authoritative and almost ethereal, as if to
remind us that no matter how much more developed and improved we are and continue to be, we will never be
exactly the same as they were – especially their significance in their time and to their era.
